10 useful tips and tricks for your android tablet computer

There's a whole new crop of Android tablet computer and a new set of hidden shortcuts to make using them even easier. On this upgrade your life, commands that unlock secret features in new tablets plus apps you can get from older Androids to give you the same functionality have been explained.


Camera
Trick number one; you dog is doing something crazy and you want to document the action fast. But three moves to launch the camera and you missed it. Instead, there are ways to do this in just one move. Press on the middle of the screen, rotate, and you've got the camera. You have to enable it first. Go to settings, security and then turn on the camera quick access icon. On older Android tablets, you can use an app like Widget Locker to get the camera icon right there on your lunch screen. And once you get the camera fired up check out the voice control by saying “shoot." If you have an older Android tablet,a Camera Zoom Fx’ is an app that will give you that same voice control. This is also great for group shots. One more image shortcut; if you have a newer Android tablet you can grab a picture of your screen. On some devices, it is the home key plus power. Others it's the volume down and power buttons at the same time. Now you can get the same functionality on older tablets using an app like “screenshot it.”

Reboot
When you want to reboot your tablet, the first step is to power it off, and that takes three moves. But if you hold down the power button for ten seconds it will reboot the phone in just one move. This should work on almost all Android tablets.

Managing battery life and speed
Sometimes this means keeping open apps to a minimum. But how do you know what's open? The answer is the task manager. It lists programs that are currently operating in the background, draining your battery. But instead of scrolling through to find the task manager, you can launch it ASAP by just holding down the home key.

Icon management
From the Play Store menu, tap Settings and under general, uncheck 'add icons to the home screen'.



Keeping your inbox clean
Keeping your inbox clean no longer has to be a chore. You can set up your email by clicking on the menu button settings, then general settings. Under archiving &delete actions, make sure that show delete only is selected. Next choose swipes to delete in the conversation list. Then when you're in your inbox, you can now swipe unwanted emails to the left or right to remove them.

Get Free Unlimited Photo Storage
We all love taking photos on our Android tablets, so make sure that you get your unlimited photo storage. From the picture app, click on the menu button and then choose settings. Next tap Auto Backup and then Photo Size. Choosing full size will limit you to 10 gigabytes. However choosing the standard size, you get unlimited photo storage in the cloud.



Setup Android Device Manager
Now you can help protect your tablet from loss or theft. To do so, tap on Google settings, then Android device manager. Remotely locate this device is on by default, so you only need to allow remote lock in erasing of your phone. Read the details and then click Activate. It's that simple.

Hide the Carrier Bloat
Now we know in most cases you can’t remove the carrier bloat from your phone but you can at least hide it. To hide the bloatware simply long press on the app, you'd like to hide and drag it up to edit. Then uncheck the box for the app folder and click the check mark. It's that simple again. It does not delete the app, but at least now you don't have to look at it.


Creating a Folder
This is just for android-beginners. Just drag the application onto another, and you've made yourself a folder. Then all you’ve got to do is name it.

Access Settings Quickly
You can access your settings with one swipe of the finger. You go two fingers on the top screen down, and you are done.
